Barcelona fever hits Cardiff

bmibaby, the number one low cost airline at Cardiff International Airport, will be celebrating the start of its new flights to Barcelona from 24th May 2008. In the first week of operating, the airline will carry over 370 people to and from the airport to the cosmopolitan Spanish City.

The new route to Barcelona will start with a twice a week service operating on Tuesday and Saturday, then from the 18th June 2008 the service will increase to three times a week, with an additional service on Wednesday. Fares start from just £24.99 one way, including taxes and charges.

Crawford Rix, managing director, bmibaby,

said: “ Barcelona is already a popular destination from our other UK bases and now travellers in Wales can access this stylish and dynamic city from their doorstep too. The inaugural flight is 95% full and forward bookings are extremely encouraging. “We are committed to low fares, new destinations and on  time  performance which is extremely attractive to consumers and is why we are the number one low cost carrier from Wales. We will continue to add more dots to the map to strengthen our position as the largest low cost carrier from Cardiff .”
