Cardiff Airport celebrates new fly/cruise service

Scenic Tours has announced a brand new river cruise programme with flights available from Cardiff International Airport.

The new programme offers 5* luxurious river cruises to Europe’s finest towns and cities, with direct flights from Cardiff to Amsterdam and one stop connections to Budapest.

Scenic Tours is also offering a special discount to all Welsh passengers, with savings of up to £800 per person on bookings made before 31 October 2008. Prices start at just £1,495 for a 15 day cruise between Amsterdam and Budapest.

The luxury cruise ships all boast private balcony suites and up to 25% more space in public areas than average vessels. All prices quoted include flights, fully inclusive on board accommodation including meals and complimentary wine, gratuities, taxes and all excursions.

Chris Townson, general manager for Scenic Tours UK said: “Scenic Tours offers an amazing and unique cruising experience, and we’re delighted to announce our extended programme with flight options available from Cardiff International Airport.

“The incredible discounts we’re offering, as well as the fuel and parking savings made by flying from a local, smaller airport gives Welsh travellers the chance to enjoy a unique and luxurious cruising experience at a very competitive price”

Spencer Birns, head of aviation relations at Cardiff International Airport added, “We are pleased to offer another cruise option to South Wales as fly cruising has fast become a popular holiday choice.

“Scenic Tours are a respected operator and have recognised the great potential KLM provide in connecting Wales to the world. I’m sure the cruise will prove a hit with our passengers.”
