THOMAS COOK GETS SUMMER OFF TO A FLYING START FROM CARDIFF

Thomas Cook has great summer deals departing from Cardiff Airport this year.  With its flying programme commencing in April and continuing through to October, Thomas Cook is offering charter flights to 19 short and medium haul destinations to help Cardiff holidaymakers get their summer sun fix in 2009.

From Turkey and Cyprus to Majorca and Malta, Thomas Cook has flights to a range of destinations and here’s just a sample of where Cardiff holidaymakers can escape to this summer…

Majorca

Whether you’re looking for family fun in the sun, a week away with friends or a romantic escape to warmer climes, Majorca has a resort to suit everyone.  Try the south of the island for a more active break in the lively resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf, whose golden beaches play host to an array of watersports before the sun sets and the bars and clubs take over the entertainment.  If it’s relaxation you’re craving, then head to the east of the island for a laid-back holiday amongst the pine fringed ‘calas’ and pretty bays of resorts such as Cala Bono and Cala d’Or.

Sunset - 7 nights in Majorca from £305 per person

Malta

A small but perfectly formed island, Malta’s popularity as a tourist destination was given the royal seal of approval by HRH herself, The Queen, when she spent her 60th Wedding Anniversary there in 2007.  Offering year-round warm temperatures, the summer months reach highs of 31°C in Malta – perfect for sunbathing on the sands of Melliieha Bay, enjoying a range of watersports or exploring the narrow streets of Malta’s historical towns and villages.  You can even take a trip over to the neighbouring island of Gozo, where alluring dive sites and Gozitan treasures await!

Turkey

With an average flight time of just four hours and lying outside of the Euro-zone, Turkey is a great value choice for summer sun in 2009.   Its breathtaking scenery, beautiful beaches and legendary Turkish baths enable you to relax straight into your holiday and you can’t pay a visit to Turkey without stopping off at one of its many colourful markets.

Airtours - 7 nights in Turkey from £370 per person

Cyprus

Bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, with golden sandy beaches, warm clear seas and quality accommodation, Cyprus is ideal for those looking to mix sand, sea and scenery.  A rich blend of European and Eastern influences, Cyprus is a treasure chest of secluded coves, tall mountain peaks and ancient ruins.  And if it’s a romantic break you’re looking for, what better destination than the birthplace of the goddess of love, Aphrodite, to set the mood!

Manos - 7 nights in Cyprus from £480 per person

Ibiza

With a choice of resorts dotted around the coastline of coves and sandy bays, there is a side to Ibiza that will seduce everyone from party lovers and young couples to families and single travelers.  Whether Ibiza’s stunning sunsets signal the start of partying in San Antonio’s legendary bars and clubs or inspire a romantic meal for two, the White Isle with its golden sands, blue seas, hippy markets and non-stop nightlife will give you a summer to remember.
